IAN WEST PRINCPLE
Ian Trained at Doreen Bird College of Performing Arts (London), over the past 20 years Ian has worked extensively in Theatre, Television and Film as a dancer, lecture and choreographer.
TEACHING: Ian has worked for many years throughout the UK as a dance practitioner along side being
a permanent dance lecturer at West College Scotland for the past 10 years,
Ian s has also Lecturered at Clyde College, Glasgow, New collage, Janice Marshall School of Dance,
Stage Coach North and South and Dance Point. Right2Dance and Y Dance and Pinapple studios London to name a few, as well as being Co-Princple of Destination Dance for the past 10 years.
CHOREOGRAPHY: Recent work includes: Taking The next step CBBC, The Last Tango In Partick ( National Theatre of Scotland) Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (King’s Theatre, Glasgow); The Full Monty 2014/15 (UK National Tour); RTS Scotland Award nominated and BAFTA winning TV series, The Dog Ate my Homework (CBBC); Cinderella (king's theatre Glasgow) IFEST (Blackpool); Crocodile, Roxy Agogo (Music video); Double BAFTA nominated film Waitress; Clyde 1 Live (SECC Arena); Pulse (Tramway Theatre, Glasgow); Too Darn Hot (Theatre Royal, Glasgow); Pent Up (Dundee Repertoire Theatre); Roofless (Theatre Royal,Glasgow); The Wizard of Oz (Notre Dame Theatre).
Ian choreographed and directed over 20 projects for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games including: Tom Daley ambassador performance (Fruit Market, Glasgow); Royal performance for the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge (Emirates Arena); Commonwealth Mascot Press Launch (BBC Scotland); Queens Baton Relay (The Scottish Parliament); One-year countdown with Sir Chris Hoy (ITV Daybreak); Clyde and Friends (Scottish National Tour). Other choreographic credits include: The Blues Brothers (UK National Tour, assist.); Cinderella (Kings Theatre Glasgow, assist). Ian was also the Dance Captain for Olivier award winning show The Play What I Wrote (UK National Tour).
PERFORMANCE: Credits include OVO (The Millennium Dome, Central Arena); Cavalcade (Sadler’s Wells Theatre, London); Aladdin (New Theatre, Cardiff); Mephisto (Riverside Studios, London); Haitink Farewell Gala (Royal Opera House, London); Work (Roundhouse London); Barnum (Devonshire Park Theatre, Eastbourne); Royal Millennium Performance (The Millennium Dome); Meistersinger (Royal Opera House, London);Jack and the Beanstalk (Alhambra Theatre,Bradford).
Ian also worked extensively for The Walt Disney Company: Hercules the Musical; Pirates of the Caribbean; Disney Dreams; Morty The Musical; and The Golden Mickeys. DCL.
